DUA Miami

CONTEXT:

A Fresh Rhythm

Dua Miami is a luxury hotel nestled in the dynamic Brickell district of Miami, renowned for its competitive hospitality landscape that's peppered with iconic properties like EAST Miami, W Miami, and Kimpton Epic, among others. Recently making its grand transition from the renowned SLS to an Autograph Collection hotel, Dua Miami poised itself for a fresh brand identity that sets it distinctively apart in this illustrious arena. My team and I were tasked with this transformation, handcrafting a brand concept that creatively stands out in a market saturated with predictable luxury and shallow engagement.

THE CHALLENGE:

Nuanced Audacity

Navigating the dance of rebranding from SLS to the Autograph Collection, the challenge lay in crafting a distinct brand, while maintaining symbiosis with the existing, modestly renovated interior design. The innovative brand had to engage in a subtle tango with the past and present, creating an appealing visual rhythm without a radical overhaul—all while still forging a strong distinctive impression in the Miami market.

THE CONCEPT:

A Dance Of Love And Desire

At Dua - Miami Brickell, inspired by its Albanian roots meaning Love and Desire, both personal indulgence and heartfelt connections are equally celebrated. Dua delivers an experience that is an interplay between love’s depth and desire’s intensity, against the backdrop of the dynamic Brickell district. In the heart of Dua’s unique rhythm lie the seen and unseen needs of guests, where the presence of being is palpable and charged with attentive confidence. It fosters an enriching environment that delicately balances enlivening social interactions with personal fulfillment. It’s not about choosing between love or desire; it’s about experiencing both and exploring the richness and allure of their dance.

VISUAL LANGUAGE:

The Euphoric

Our visual design for Dua Miami marries two contrasting ideas. On one side, we use the timeless sophistication of black and white to evoke a sense of luxury and calm. On the other side, we inject the lively pulse of the Brickell district with a mix of bright and dynamic colors. Together, they create a style that perfectly captures the essence of Dua Miami: chic yet vibrant, distinguished yet lively. This design approach underscores Dua Miami's unique balance of personal indulgence and shared connection in an enjoyable dance of contrasts.

SIGNATURE ACTIVATION:

Dream Cache

The Dream Cache at Dua Miami Brickell offers an engaging and interactive concept for guests. Located in the lobby, it invites guests to share their wishes and aspirations during their stay using curated cards. Each day, staff select a wish from the cache and fulfill it within 24 hours, creating a memorable and personalized experience. The process can be live-streamed or shared on social media, adding an element of anticipation and community involvement. This activation not only enhances guest engagement but also reinforces Dua’s commitment to creating unique, heartfelt connections.

OUTCOME:

Vibrant Evolution

Dua Miami, a shining star in Brickell, is currently being skillfully reimagined by the EoA, an esteemed interior design team. The ongoing revamp is meticulously weaving our brand's unique ethos - the contrast of singular, chic monochrome luxury with the dynamic vibrancy of the Brickell spirit - into the very fabric of our interiors.

Once the transformation is complete, these dynamic spaces will embrace the engaging blend of natural textures, sculptural elements, and a captivating interplay of black-and-white sophistication alongside vibrant hues. The upgrades extend to a collection of premium amenities, including a heated pool, an advanced fitness center, expansive event spaces, and an upcoming wellness spa to serve as a sanctuary of relaxation. Unique elements such as dog-friendly spaces, interactive classes, and a gourmet journey at our in-house restaurant, promise to enrich our guest experience further.
